The offer is simple, each day Bet365.com selects of two races as their 4/1+ Feature Race promotion. If you back the winner at a price of 4/1 or more (decimal 5.0), Bet365 will give you a free bet to the same stake on the next feature race, upto a maximum of £50. If the free bet wins, it is carried forward to the next race (as long as the price was 4/1 or more) and so on.There are a number of ways to approach this offer, but we have gone for this. Backing each selection for the full £50 and laying slightly more on the same selection we can generate a small risk free profit on each bet and then when we get a winner, cash in on the free £50 bet to boost our profits.

If we get a winning bet then you actually place the next £50 bet on the next feature race out of your own money and if that loses then Bet365 will credit the £50 back to you account within one hour, brilliant.

We are generally looking for a close match in odds at 4/1 (5.0) and over, backing for £50 and laying approx. £54, so if the horse loses we at least generate a little bit of profit to keep us ticking over.  In theory you could always lay for £51 (as this will always give you a £50 after 2% commission at Betdaq on each selection that loses)  or £52.62 at Betfair based on 5% commission, thereby balancing up the £50 you lose at Bet365.  We looked at this but we could go on a long losing streak and make nothing until we hit a winner and secure a free bet, so let’s try an make a little, even if it is only a couple of quid along the way on every bet.

There are some of important considerations for this offer.

First the standard T&C’s:-

The offer applies to a maximum stake of £50/race
Only your first bet you place on each feature race counts for the offer
Your bet must be a single
It must be placed at odds of 4/1 (decimal 5.0) or more 

Also the 4/1 qualifier relates to the actual odds used to settle your bet after any adjustment for a deadheat or Rule 4 deduction. This can be an issue especially if you are wagering close to the 4/1 limits as a deduction can take you below that price and if the selection wins you will not get a free bet on the next featured race.

We take the following view on this, dead heats occur so infrequently that we take the view that an occasional loss just has to be accepted and should not effect our long term profits.

Withdrawals are obviously more commonplace and a rule 4 deduction could cause the odds to go below 4/1.  For example a selection at 4/1 (5.00) effected by a 10p in the pound Rule 4 deduction because of a late withdrawal, won’t qualify because the bet will now be settled at 3.6/1. However a selection at 6/1 (7.00) would be reduced to 5.4/1 and still qualify for a free bet on the next race should it win. The best advice is not to bet on horses between 5.00 and 6.00 until closer to the off but again even if we do get hit we feel the odds are still in our favour so in the long term we will still profit.

We may not find a suitable selection on every race but we are going to follow whenever we can to see how profitable it can really be.
