Bookies Paddy Power are facing a massive payout if Dollar star David Van Day is crowned this year’s jungle king. The 53 year old mischief maker, who was once an 80/1 shot with Paddy Power is now the 11/4 second favourite behind Eastender’s Joe Swash.

There’ll be dollar signs in punters eyes if David does go on to win the show. Paddy Power will be forced to fork out over £50,000/€60,000 to supporters of the former Bucks Fizz star. 

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: “David has really made the show this year with his crazy antics and the viewers absolutely adore him. Matt Willis came from nowhere to win I’m a Celebrity in 2006 and punters are still very mindful of that. David could quite easily ‘do a Matt’ and cause the biggest upset of the series, by pipping Joe to the jungle crown!”
