ALEX NEW X FACTOR FAVOURITE

Alex Burke has rocketed to the top of the X Factor betting after her sensational Saturday blew away punters, the judges and her rivals.

Bookie Paddy Power slashed the odds on Alex from 4/1 to 6/5 favourite as X Factor viewers piled onto the 20 year old diva. Back in September Alex had been as big as 10/1 to win the show.  

Former favourite Diana is now joint second favourite with Eoghan at 5/2 after one of her worst weeks of the series. The bare-footed singer had been massively backed for the boot during the show on Saturday but was reprieved when Ruth was given the thumbs down. Boyband JLS are the 9/1 outsiders.  

Sharon McHugh, Paddy Power’s showbiz betting expert, said: “You could almost see the international dollar signs flashing in Simon Cowell’s eyes after Alex’s sensational songs on Saturday.

“It’s difficult to imagine the other remaining finalists being able to break out of the UK whereas Alex’s performance was international class and punters were quick to react.”
